It’s been 20 years since actress- entrepreneur Jessica Alba graced our screens as a teen actress.
Now the 34-year-old mother of two is a successful business woman whose expanding net worth has hit $200 million.
Forbes‘ latest issue features Alba and reads, “America’s Richest Self-Made Women,” highlighting the great accomplishment of her Honest Company valuating at $1 billion!
In 2012, the Honey actress founded The Honest Company, an health-focused company that began with a focus on baby products and diapers that are produced with limited harmful chemicals.
After funding the Honest Project with some of her Hollywood-earned money, Alba, mother of Honor, 6, and Haven, 3, recalls the process of investing in her vision,
I made a lot of money in entertainment at a very young age and I saved it. I just needed to make as much money as quickly as possible, knowing it was going to go away at some point…I was very deliberate about it.”
Having brought in $10 million in revenue in its first year, the Honest Company has now skyrocketed to a projected total of $250 million for 2015, earning an overall valuation of $1 billion in three years.
If we really want to make a difference in the world and people’s health, it’s billions and billions of dollars, not just one,” said Alba to Forbes.
The Honest Company is also co-founded with Christopher Gavigan, Brian Lee, and Sean Kane. Its diverse products range from non-toxic and eco-friendly diapers to vegan-leather diaper bags and hypoallergenic laundry detergent.
